Silver Oaks College of Nursing, established in 2003 is about 28 km from Mohali to village Abhipur, Punjab. It is one of the most prestigious nursing institutions spread over 5 acres of land – established with a vision of enriching the society through knowledge and nursing education.

The college is attached to a 150 bedded multispeciality parent hospital i.e. Silver Oaks Hospital in Phase IX, Mohali, Punjab with super speciality health team providing comprehensive and advanced medical services.

The founder director of this institution, Dr. Akhil Bhargava, started the institution in 2003 with a mission and aim to prepare well-qualified nurses to meet the health needs at various levels, raising the health standards of our society along with solving Socio-economic and allied problems.

To start with, the college had B.Sc. Nursing (4 years) Degree course in 2003 after approval by the Government of Punjab, Punjab Nurses Registration Council and Indian Nursing Council with an intake of 50 students. The degree course is affiliated with BFUHS, Faridkot. In 2005, Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery was started with an intake of 40 students. Subsequently, in the year 2008, Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing course was introduced to facilitate the nurses to continue their, professional learning. To prepare nurses at the grass root level, ANM course was added in 2011. From session 2012, the college will be admitting students for the post graduate programs in nursing.


Silver Oaks College of Nursing is dedicated to be a learning Institute in nursing sciences that produces professionals with strong ethical values who are capable of providing compassionate patient care of accepted standards of excellence, in both the community and hospital settings and able to function within the social and cultural context of the community.
